Handcrafted Tweed-Princeton Guitar Amplifier. It’s a 5-Watt Class-A Tube amplifier and sought after for its chimey, warm tones.
Inside it has one 6V6, one 12AX7, and a 5Y3GT rectifier tube, with simple Volume and Tone controls.
This was a custom built project with cabinet built by Jacques Lombard (professional artisan and craftsman).
Karel Mars (Mars Tube Audio) supplied and hand-wired the circuitry (5F-2A schematic).
Custom Hand-wound Output Transformer (this alone worth R3500 and installed as new in 2025).
The cabinet is hand-crafted of Kiaat Wood and features custom leather handle and aged solid brass fittings.
The grill cloth is Fender supplied 50’s /60’s period correct brown tweed.
Speaker is a vintage 12” Alinco 16ohm Jensen from Chicago USA also 1960’s. (I have the bell cover.)
Dimensions: 43cm (h) x 45cm (w) x 22cm (depth at widest) – Similar dimensions to a Tweed Deluxe Cabinet and other narrow panel tweed Fenders of the late 1950’s.
