Nope, this not a normal Cort MR710f…
Noticed the SE in the model name? That means Seven Eleven. Yes folks, this guitar was made and sold at a Seven Eleven store near you.
Nobody really knows what it means, but I’ve got a couple of theories…
1. Special Edition?
2. Solid Edition?
3. Striped Ebony?
I believe it’s Solid Ebony, as there is no records on the website, and Chat GPT also doesn’t know, plus the pattern of the wood outside, matches the pattern on the inside. Even the rosette inlay is striped ebony wood.
But as they say, the proof is in the pudding, well, the strumming. That’s when this gem really comes to life. Beautiful sound, big, bold, clear, sustained and loud. Truly a remarkable guitar.
Unfortunately, you’ll notice some glue marks on the back, possibly a cordless unit, fitted with duct tape or something similar. I didn’t want to tamper with it too much, risking damaging the finish, but I’m sure it will eventually come off completely.
